I love Patrick Daughters's videos.Just when you think he's the most beautifully understated promo director he pulls out something really rock'n'roll and sexy like his latest Kings of Leon number:

That second video was cool. Remembering me a scene in buffalo 66.binkystick, February 1, 2005 12:58:59 AM CET
I'm not much of a fan of that Death Cab video...it's cute, but kind of boring. That Kings of Leon video, though. Wow! That's exciting.langdonallger, February 1, 2005 1:35:53 AM CET
Wow, I don't know how I missed that kings of leon video, thanks.lusk81, February 1, 2005 4:46:28 AM CET
I disagree with all of you. I'm still up in the air with Patrick. I've known of his work sinse his days at NYU. But he's now got a full roster of promos under his belt and I don't think they add up to anything. The work tends to be "understated", but primarily because it has nothing to say. As far as rock, the closest he comes is the "Nowhere Again" promo he did for Secret Machines. Just a strong lens flare performance piece.
He's signed with BLACKDOG and you can see more of his work at RSA's site:

I recommend a moody little short called: "Any Creature".

i'd agree his work can sometimes be a bit here nor there. but his yyy's maps promo for me is still dynamite, really captures a special moment.

Is this his new promo? See, this is exactly what I'm talking about. It's just nothing work. I feel like he has a lot of promise and I'm not sure why he keeps pumping out these nothings. The Maps video is the reason he got signed to Blackdog. They loved that promo and I'll agree with you Mud, it's a classy little performance piece.
