the shining one remains really wonderful. the others are here nor there. actually though, the west side story one frustrates me - surely adding the effects on top (the glowing eyes) invalidates the point?

To be honest, at least 1/4 if not half of the videos posted on this site are not "fresh". At least not to me. And I only came across those trailers a few days ago. So everything is bound to be fresh to SOMEBODY.

But I can see how you would be sick of them by now, if they have been in circulation for so long.

You know, this post is a great example of the power of editing, not to mention hilarious and smart. If anything, this should foster some discussion from the filmmaker crowd who tend to frequent this site.

Antville IS mostly music videos. The occasional, well chosen, non-music video post is great. flip past it if you don't like it.

if you start breaking this rule when you think "but this clip is AMAZING, everyone will want to see it!" then the site will be full of 1,000 shitty clips that everyone has seen.

         

I thought the shining trailer was amazing and I'm glad it was posted. I think that it does remind us of the editor's importance whether it be for trailers, commercials, short films, or music videos. These guys did really great work that demonstrates an ability to do some fine music video editing. I also think that calling this shameless self-promotion is ridiculous considering how many posts on this site are left by the video's director, and that that is not necessarily a bad thing as it gives new directors a chance to hear what people think. I think that this site should be about exposure and getting/offering feedback not bitching about the relevance of the post to the stated mission of the site. If you're not into the clip, don't bother commenting, let alone leaving several redundant comments.
