I don't know how I missed this one previously. The Presets "Are you the One" was my favorite vid of last year. Thanks for posting this.okapisafari, Tuesday, 21. February 2006, 19:09
No doubt. It´s beautyfull. Great drawings/cut-outs...But in my opinion not intdependent enough.I mean: An inspiration should only build an origin for further action. But in this case the director felt encouraged to create a kind of mega-mix of Norstein elements. It's too bad about so much effort.
With prosoks apposite words: "Blatant style-ripp". In form top. In contant flop.

I think this file is even darker than the others. Putting this sort of imagery with this sort of music is some measure of originality in of itself.

Just noticed they are playing NYC in early march, en route to SXSW.forcor, Wednesday, 22. February 2006, 00:01
I call it a rip-off, albeit a beautifully done rip-off, since Yuri Norstein is not somebody most people watching this video would know about; thus, unless Lee Lennox had something in the video that said "Inspired by the work of Yuri Norstein," he's essentially passing off Norstein's style and ideas as his own. (Kind of like how Tarsem brazenly steals from Sergei Parajanov.) Bad form.hassinator, Wednesday, 22. February 2006, 18:44

here is a slightly better G&TS link. Not great, but the first one I've actually been able to tell what was happening. I ran across a really large version of the Caged Baby clip once, can't remember where though.
