Gwen Stefani "Sweet Escape" dir. by Joseph Kahn
A really really bad video...that has been taken off YouTube. YouTube
Now that is a great lesson in how to waste money in a spectacular way! What's with the fringe blow-dried round a Frisbee?
There's one moment in the video where Gwen drives a large golden truck (FORD) and the camera lingers on the logo (twice!). I love that shit. What is more retarded than a pop star logo-fying themselves and their work?
A pop star who cannot differentiate between her world and the one that she desperately mimes -- and ultimately is controlled by.
Director?
I didn't hate just as I've never really hated any of her videos. The girl's got charisma. And damn they lit/made-up her perfectly. Compare this to "Just a Girl."
And damn having that kid was great for her gazongas.
Sort of a mess and pretty forgettable but far from BAD.
Director: Joesph Kahn
Aw, now we can't see the crap.
more like Joseph Kahnt (geddit?)
Fear not folks, least For a while anyway
I don't know, tain't that bad! Its Gwen as a 'bird' in a gilded cage innit? Granted it ain't High Art - Still I dain't expect to see 'Lord Clarke of Civilisation' commenting on the video runnings ov the day. The tune's nice n the vid does the job
It is a pop video. This is what pop videos look like. In my opinion it is a pretty good one. It feels like the sunnier sequel to Britney's "Toxic" - also by same director.
Is it wrong if I like this song? cus I do.
The video is another story The video feels like being slapped.
i actually really like the song too, so I don't think it's wrong.
the song is okay. kahn says that he always tries to try new things and invent new techniques with each video in order to stay at the top in this business. it didn't seem like he tried to do anything new in this video. it was really bland and incredibly boring.
here is a new link on youtube youtube.com
I don't know which is worse, the song or the video.
WIsh she was still ska. What a cutie.
Yeah its a pop video - but I don't think its much of one. I've been better rap videos with fly hunnies and hummers that have a more prominent theme than this. This video was inconsistent to a point that made it weird.
It's a nice pop video, really. The song didn't really call for all the visual sterility, but it's well done. Joseph at his Mullerest. I like Wind It Up more though, prolly cuz the song's better.
I like Gwen. I think she's great. I could have gone without the Chevy logos, though.
The mov is not opening on my computer Kev Bleedin' AOL
It's also up on Joseph's site.
Cheers Kev, ur a star m8, much better rez than t' yahoo wmv
Hey!! The on-air version of this vid replaces the Chevy logos with big Gwen G logos. Nice one!
