ah, well, fuck you very much flynn. your logo is cracking, but your flv's suck as much as anybody else's. (who sold you on killing qt, honestly? oh, and: while you're at it, why didn'tcha go straight to silverlight? it's state of the art, i swear!)lisanowak, April 10, 2008 1:59:18 AM CEST
agreed.winchandpulley, April 10, 2008 9:40:51 AM CEST
Did anyone else see the video? I love it. Does anyone else agree with me that Michael Baldwin is awesome?Progosk, I think you could probably start your own AM talk show about your strong feelings of hatred toward certain video formats.

it *so* gets my goat when folks - specially those who should know better - let themselves be technologically lulled... ;-)pennebaker, April 10, 2008 11:38:32 AM CEST
hey prog!are you getting shy? why is your typo so small?
progosk, April 10, 2008 1:30:36 PM CEST
when they're just my pet gripes, i try to keep them unobtrusive; full measure's for thoughts about the video.loz, April 10, 2008 6:23:05 PM CEST
well, i ain't afraid to say it big... THAT FLV PLAYS JERKY AS HELL. having that same flv vs qt fight trying to make my new website work, and starting to lose it.
on a really geeky tip, what do you do then if you want ot use H264s, but don't want just anyone else with quicktimepro to be able to download them off your site? any suggestions welcome...
BUT
i really like the video though. could've done with a bit more darkness in hallucinations/whatever, or more of an ending. but cool idea, and nicely shot.

You play thru with Flash, like Youtube is doing right now.

Don't fight it. People will just download your FLVs anyways.progosk, April 11, 2008 10:07:18 PM CEST
actually, i'm interested: for what reason would you not want someone to be able to download your videos?lloyd, April 13, 2008 6:17:32 PM CEST
Does anyone know what camera this was shot on? Was it film or digital? Cheersmr.b, April 13, 2008 6:45:43 PM CEST
it was a Pansonic HDX900 with Pro35 and Zeiss Ultra primes. Great camera as it shoots 50fps with sooooooo much more ease than the unfriendly Varicam!captainhairy, April 13, 2008 7:30:01 PM CEST

ay, captain! can't beat a bit of Futura. it's a classic and Kubrick's favourite font to boot!!lloyd, April 14, 2008 1:06:18 PM CEST
Thanks Mr.b. I really like the video, the guys expressions in the doorway when he sees the real robbers, and the French speaking part, magiclloyd, April 14, 2008 1:26:23 PM CEST
Was it shot 720p 25p to 50p overcranked, to a firestore? What framerate do you use for the slightly overcracked sections? I've used a HVX before but that camera looks like a pro version.mr.b, April 14, 2008 4:33:38 PM CEST
the hdx900 records a true 50fps at 720p so avoiding a frame rate converter. Much nicer than the Scaricam!lloyd, April 14, 2008 5:25:28 PM CEST
Does the pro35 attach to the hdx without a lens? so: hdx(no lens) > pro35 > Primes? I've used a hvx with a brevis 35mm adapter with SLR primes, but can't get it looking that good. Sorry for all the questions mr.bmr.b, April 14, 2008 11:36:58 PM CEST
click on my profile and send me an email, i can go into more detail without boring all the antvillers with a massive posting...msm, April 15, 2008 12:29:24 AM CEST
would be cool to have a full technical back-list, with details concerning Camera, Lenses and Format to each video here
