Text book Ace Norton, self-homaging and all that, but I like it. The songs a lot of fun and the guy's fun to watch dancing. Thumbs up for me.kansas, March 4, 2010 6:56:44 AM CET
A few good ideas. Still a little too much bad is good hipster vibe which is slightly boring unless you're really doing something brilliant with it. flicks78, March 4, 2010 9:30:07 AM CET
fun. that camera hat sequence is nicemva, March 4, 2010 3:31:00 PM CET
I often wonder if Ace Norton actually enjoys filmmaking. His videos are always so sloppy. Is that his aesthetic? Being sloppy and shooting things on the fly without a hint of preparation?captainhairy, March 4, 2010 3:44:20 PM CET
yeah pretty sloppy. a lot of directors are nowadays. i guess its the aesthetic of a generation raised on Youtube and point and shoot cameras. Cat Solen's work was a bit like that. A lot of the Waverly's stuff also. Ray Tintori. To an extent Megaforce also, although more planning goes into theirs.pancho, March 4, 2010 7:14:15 PM CET
I wouldn't call it sloppy. I'd call it loose, fun, free, unexpected, personal... Kids are pretty well versed nowadays at what looks good, and often if everything is perfect with beautiful cinematography etc, it becomes too sterile, boring, and corporate. Still... this isn't a new thing. People like Spike Jones, and Gondry were always 'sloppier' then say Romanek.stoney, March 4, 2010 7:31:27 PM CET
camera hat scene was awesome! and i agree with pancho... would this video have been better all polished? doubt it. nicely done. The real question i have though...Ace Norton, are you smarter then a 4th grader? www.youtube.com
hehe.

co-sign everything mva and captainhairy said. It's disappointing to see stuff sloppily put together. And even worse when it's celebrated. Lo fi aesthetics and lower budgets shouldn't translate into something disposable. It doesn't have to be sterile, it just needs a little craft. kulilin, March 5, 2010 9:23:00 AM CET
