I heard a lot about the song and the video before I watched it and perhaps my expectations got set too high but I didn't really love this.

Like Jesse mentioned, the performances are a little flat. I also thought that not enough changed or happened in the video. I know the point is to show that he keeps repeating the cycle with the girl but I think I would have enjoyed seeing the cycle repeated more if each iteration was shot or, perhaps, conceived more interestingly.

While on the topic of treatments, this treatment seems awfully modest fare for a song that aims to be edgy and off-kilter. I mean really, the song is called 'Fuck You'. Sure, one route to dealing with the off-kilterness is to make the video surprisingly innocent but if that was the angle then it didn't vibe with me.

I know this song is blowing up the social media circuit right now but even the record doesn't tickle me. Gah, perhaps I'm just in a foul humor. I watched 4 videos on the site today and none of them connected.
