Talk Talk "I Believe In You"
I had no idea this video even existed until today. One of Talk Talk's most beautiful songs and the video seems to really suit the mood of it. I'm especially fond of the gradual overlays and shaft of light as the outro kicks in. Apologies for YouTube but I cannot find it anywhere else.
Dir. Tim Pope. Mark Hollis had this to say of the promo:
"It went okay, but the idea of doing a promo for that song didn't feel right. That song means so much to me that to sit there and mime to it just feels totally stupid. In retrospect, I would rather have not done it at all, but there you go. It just felt like I was being prostituted. Tim felt exactly the same, 'cos he cares about that sort of thing."

sorry, I'm not a talk-talk-specialist - but from which record is this song? - it is a really great one.
It's from their 1988 album Spirit of Eden, and is pretty indicative of how their sound had evolved by then. A fantastic record and well worth checking out.
I loved the video - soft is cool
this band were amazing they just got better and better. this really is a masterpiece. the lyrics about heroin are clearly very personal and heartfelt. i really love the video it is very modern looking for something at least 20 years old. i wish mark all the best.. but please come out of retirement and do one more analogue album.
