TheTube is no more.
I just noticed Los Angeles' KTLA 5.5's showed a message -- see screen capture: img442.imageshack.us
And I checked www.thetubetv.com --
"Dear friend of THE TUBE Music Network,
We regret to inform you of the fate that has befallen The Tube Music Network. October 1, 2007 The Tube ceased its national broadcast.
Viewers, Artists, Music Companies, Investors, Business Partners, TV stations, Cable companies, Advertisers , Friends and our creative partners @Radical Media - your support of The Tube has always been highly valued and appreciated. The collective efforts of this team, fueled by the letters we received from viewers, sustained THE TUBE as it struggled through the financial limitations that ultimately contributed to its incapacitated state.
Thank you for inviting The Tube Music Network into your life.
Sincerely,
The Tube Music Network staff"
Does anyone know what will really happen to this station via OTA? Is KTLA 5.5 going to be used for something else? Wikipedia (en.wikipedia.org ) said:
"Cease of operation/cancellation
Per a statement at The Tube's website, the network announced that they were suspending operations, effective October 1, 2007 (though some stations closed the feed earlier). According to the statement, "financial limitations ultimately contributed to its incapacitated state". Many stations carrying the station have been informed to direct viewers to www.thetubetv.com for futher information and several are now searching for content to replace the channel over the air and on cable systems.
The last song played on the network was A3's "Woke Up This Morning" (Chosen One Mix). The song finished exactly at 12:00am EST with a black screen. This might have been done on purpose by the network, as The Sopranos television series ended in a similar fashion. The Sopranos used the song as their opening theme for its run."
Bummer - I liked their live shows!

..I thought Promo folding would draw a bigger response. Or is it just promonews.co.uk that's done?
