Unfortunately , for us French , there is something wrong with your name ( indiegogo.com ) a " gogo " being in slang a naïve person , perfect victim for various crooks of all sorts ......

joking aside, hey mvod, you've got a stylish blog going, so you're great candidates for an initiative like this.

honestly, though:

• unlike kickstarter, with this indiegogo even if you don't get fully funded you keep the donations? not cool...
• you are looking for sponsors - and then you expect to crowd-source the data? you can't have it both ways: you either go wiki (but see here and here for clues on why that won't work) or else you get somebody to pay you (but see here or mvdbase.com itself for how that can fail to work out, too).

it'd be a great nut to crack - and i'm sure you'd probably get some good input from some folks round here for that task - but as is, though i don't want to rain on your party: colour me unconvinced...

If you haven't already you should look at the extremely successful sourceecreative.com - which is the primary database of for the commercial production industry. It's a paid service, production companies / ad agencies voluntarily upload their videos and credits to it - because they want to advertise their services. It works about as well as you could hope for...
