Viva Voce Wrecking Ball

Our first promo.
this track deserves something a little less... all over the place.
This video has some beautiful illustrative flourishes. I agree it would be more coherent if it was simplified but I also like the quirky dog and cat scenes even though the way they are rendered doesn't fit into the overall style.
yeah too all over the place. doesn't really work. seems like the illustrative flourishes are just that, kinda nice - would be better simply as print work.
Ouch! Thanks for the comments though. I’m not going to back peddle on this one, or apologise. Its good to have this cold criticism (I mean that in a nice way!) as hard to get a straight answer most of the time, that's why we stuck it on antville. Of course, having read other posts, I should respond by referring to you all as “retards” (a word not often used this side of the Atlantic) and then kill the post when it gets too hot for me to handle.
to put it in a less retarded way: lots of really nice stuff in there, just doesn't really gel. thanks for posting though (and: you got picked up by robotwisdom, so you're definitely hitting some right notes...)
I shot their first promo, for "Alive with Pleasure," and really enjoyed your video. It's fun to look and moves at a healthy clip, and that's exactly what videos should do. Looks like you guys had just concert footage to work with? Seems like a video that took some time and had a budget of some kind -- could you not get a day with the band to shoot?
Thanks for the reply. Progosk – I wasn’t having a pop, I was just reflecting on some of the comments left by others who had their postings criticised. I totally accept your comments! Thanks for the tip about robotwisdom.
Umm. It would have been nice to film the band, but we had a 3 1/2 week turn around and because of technical problems were unable to see the concert footage until the end of the first week. And the band had just gone back to the US. As an aside, Alive with Pleasure was a great promo – you immediately caught the essence of the band. )Having not met them, we had no idea how they would take our effort). It was the first time I had heard that song, too. Are you working on anything now?
