Epic - Faith No More (Director: Ralph Ziman)
Wow, the fish became famous after this video aired! Actually, the fish belonged to Bjork and the band said that they stole it while at one of her parties (wikipedia).
Did hakai rip some of this for Coheed and Cambria? (Those portraits, that weather..) I've been wondering..
This video is also drop-dead classic. Deny it and die.
This song is also still incredible. No wonder Ipecac is such a good label.
A few people have told me that Coheed looked like this video. But I swear, I never once thought about it or watched it since I was in High School. But maybe it was in my sub conscience. Wasn't intentional at all...
it's called cryptomnesia.
Well there you go. Case Closed...
thanks microfiche! This post has been very refreshing. Falling to Pieces makes me feel like the Police vid spreech posted recently.. A band just having fun in a room.. Please, directors, commissioners, bands: let's revisit plain ol' rock n' roll fun sometime. Ditch the sophisticated treatment and storyline once or twice! [n.b. this only works when the song's interesting]
here's some more inspiration..
Try this or Joseph Arthur "Chemical" (shamefully omitted from Corbijn's Directors Label DVD)..
I think what I'm getting at is the fun/creative performance video. Only Patrick Daughters seems to be plying this trade to any success these days. There is so much more room in this genre.
Ahhh the Fish out of Water and the exploding Piano, it all seemed so much more profound and deep when I was twelve. Anyone know where I can get Mike Patton’s outfit? is that Vision Streetwear!?
Kevin, I really think its partially the bands fault for not being so "FUN". Bands these days take themselves very seriously. There are some exceptions like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. But I do believe half of the magic comes form the band having personality and the other half being a director that can capture that personality.
