Computer animator Michael Levy has made a simple but compelling video for John Coltrane's Giant Steps. I normally don't go in for purely abstract visual representations of music, but this one works really well for me for some reason.

According to this link, it's "creating an audio/visual montage with the use of intelligent soft & hardware". If that helps.
I'm assuming that it's kind of like the visualizer you see built into some MP3 players. AI? Care to explain further?
