Maximo Park - Apply Some Pressure
Check out this new video for Maximo Park. The two camera effect is pretty cool. Director: Jaron Albertin

The camera trick is pretty cool. I like the pasty look of their skin. Good concept for a performance based video.
another band that look and sound the same as every other band, with a video thats just the same as many other videos! great stuff!
Sure, the music may be similar to other "dance punk" bands right now, but shit, it's still a pretty good song. As for the video, I think it's incredibly well shot and edited. It's a performance piece with an interesting gimmick and it works well with the song.
Oh...and, uh, Replay poops his pants. Or something.
This a great video.. I am totally loving this one
The song is much better than most other songs in the same genre. I'm interested to know what other videos Replay thinks this is similar to? I find it quite original for a performance piece, as there is far more to it then the band just playing their instruments and looking cool.
it's a good video, similar in feel to something by cut copy. can't stand this lead singer though he is repulsive.
Swish: I think I know what cut copy promo you're talking about and I think it's the same director. He does some sick shit. Good work, I like this one.
i think the coolest thing i've ever heard is when someone says "replay poops his pants" how funny is that? too funny for my liking you clever little guys!
The more you whine about it, the funnier it gets.
REPLAY: For once I agree with you completely.
And if you haven't already noticed, this is absolutely not the type of forum that houses people of viable taste and/or opinion.
Come here to peruse new vids. Never to debate.
No, of course not...Lusk would NEVER debate anyone on this forum.
You do, of course, realize that by stating that "this is absolutely not the type of forum that houses people of viable taste and/or opinion" you are including yourself, right? So I guess we're all equal.
Which indirectly means I also poop my pants. Damn.
The aesthetic of this film clip is way too similar to Interpol. It's not that I don't particularly dislike the group or the film clip however I don't think that it does anything for the song, it looks exactly how I would expect it to if I had first heard the song without any accompanying visuals. A performance clip, with the cleanly groomed members wearing suits and a lot of accentuated whites and blacks in the sets. I think that the main purpose of this clip was to identify this group as being a new wave garage rock group, which it does even though you would know this from listening to the song. A few visual tricks are all that is original about it.
I should also say that again I don't particularly dislike the group however I think it was a bit of a jumping on the bandwagon decision for Warp to have signed these guys.
um. whats so special about this video?
Hmmmm. I think a lot of comments on this site seem to presume an infinite budget and therefore an infinite number of possibilities for how the video can look.
Record companies generally only give you money to make something if they think it will help sell records therefore they want to see the band play particularly on their debut single.
The reason it looks a bit like Interpol is that it probably had a similar budget - swee fanny adam.
I think this is a cool video and a spectacular band - just wait until you hear "Going Missing"
