i've been going through all of his work today too...

there is no trick with the freezes. it's just people standing still with things hanging on wires, ala buffalo 66.

and i'm not sure if I felt 'the energy'. the more i watch of daughter's work, the less I like it, actually. Maps is really good, and I recall liking a few others, like the Secret Machines video. But pretty much everything else feels like stock standard indie clip fodder. Daughters seems to have one trick, and it's getting old. Clips like Kings of the Rodeo and Hounds of Love and D.U.I. aren't bad, but could be so much cooler in other hands.

This clip is one of the better ones though, and the Kings of the Rodeo video, while pretty insignificant at least has a great performance by Caleb.

it's the barked lyrics that get me. no, not epochal, but pretty tight nonetheless...
         
the new kings of leon album/singles are pretty damn excellent.
