John Coltrane - Giant Steps
Okay, I can understand that some of you don't appreaciate Kelly Clarkson and cellphone ringtones, but this is amazing. AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!
This is seriously one of the best things i've seen in video/animation bar none. Great great great shit.
Already posted, just two months ago: videos.antville.org
dammit...well it's good enough to be posted again....i guess.
Wonderful! Thanx for the backlink, prog. Tough call, calling this the best jazz vid ever. There's some good competition out there, though Note to Creatives: Jazz and classical are vastly unexplored realms in the world of music video. Soo many possibilities, Bugs Bunny aside.
you show me one and i'll recant.
lol you're a feisty one. I'd have to do some research to unlock my brain, but there's been some good stuff for neo-jazz (sorry, cocktail) types Dimitri From Paris (Kuntzel & Deygas), St. Germain (including another K&D vid!), umm.. don't think Medeski Martin & Wood ever did anything truly unbelievable.. Jaga Jazzist had a couple good ones, Skalpel, Bonobo.. Okay that's all you get from me today.
I'll leave you with Technova cuz it's fun
erm, i think it's safe to say that none of the above mentioned (except perhaps mm&w) qualifies as jazz.
don't worry, i'm no hurry here... ;-)
Overall, no, they're not (I'd argue Jaga and Skalpel and St. Germain though, re: nu-jazz, jazz house, etc, etc.. but let's stick to the vids here.). There ain't much real, quality jazz mv that I've seen, outside of experimental film and animation. While I haven't seen the entire Blue Note video catalog, for instance, their videos (like most commissioned jazz [-pop, et al] videos) lean toward AAA. And BET J isn't the most thrilling of channels.
Feel free to fill in the blanks I'm leaving behind. ..We simply must put Rockit somewhere..
