it reminds me of a short film shot in South Africa in a shanty town with a police robot - cant for the life of me remember but i will try and find the linkprogosk, 1. July 2005, 12:45
for some reason safari downloads those mp4's as .ram files. correct the suffix, and then they work fine. (firefox handles them correctly.)mothman, 1. July 2005, 16:41

loved it. The ideas are nothing new but it was a great execution. _ "Short Circuit" from the director of "City of God", maybe? Wish there was a tad more story arc, but even the location was enough to make a slick video.najork, 2. July 2005, 22:34
yeah, this is great footage.veronica90, 3. July 2005, 06:14
I agree that a bit more narrative would lift this work. I found I was skipping though it to get to the end and see what happens and all we get is a "sshhhhh" which was a bit of a let down. It's not nearly as engaging or powerful in terms of style & message as the above mentioned short that this seems to be so heavily inspired by. But the location is great.najork, 3. July 2005, 18:17
I think a contrived narrative would detract from the documentary quality of this. These people are scavenging gold and other raw materials from discarded western electronics, subjecting themselves to highly toxic chemicals in the process. The robot is only there to heighten the eeriness of reality.gwan, 3. July 2005, 18:32
Western Electronics? Nno no no no...najork, 4. July 2005, 19:32
Thrown out by westerners I meant, not manufactured. Of course there would be some more nearby sources too. I read about it recently, not sure where.psyne, 18. July 2005, 16:49
Absolutely love this. Napoli should be proud, great vision great record, I mean GREAT record, if this tune does not go luge in UK I will be so shocked, the mood the production is superb. Heard it on Italian radio station when I was snowboarding last year and it got me straight away. Love the mega plazbot recycling itself into his own religion. This is plastic at its very finest ladies and gentlemen, absolutely Killer....well don PF. OH YEAHH...
