this is a pile of audacious and lurid shit, in my humble opinion. It rips off Matt Kirkbys video for Fatboy Slim in a big way, which was a much more entertaining clip

         

Three years at art school and all you can produce is a film of people wanking. Your parents must be so proud. I think we all know who the real wanker is, though.

         

I can't believe - or don't want to believe that a director who was aware of Matt Kirkby's video would have shot it this way....is that true?

What's wrong with a film about masturbation? Might have been interesting to have run it alongside some guitar rock vids for a direct comparison0. Credit for getting so many people to 'twang the wire' for the camera though.

         

The Fatboy Slim clip was a real video made by a talented director. The clip you're all getting so worked up by i hear was made by the band to post on the internet, made from existing footage they stole from this site. www.beautifullagony.com I'm not saying that its a great video but I do applaud the band for making an effort to come up with cheap (free) content to get people talking about their unknown band that isnt a shit DV performance video cut in Imovie.

         

Hey, I’m not a prude! This stuff has been done before. I have seen a couple of video art pieces done exactly like this years ago. This is just plagiarism. Why applaud the band for stealing other people’s material?

         

why's everyone so obsessed with thinking people are nicking ideas? The band need a video, the website needed a bit of exposure...a fair exchange. I don't care if it's like someone else's video, it still tickled me.

Bottom line its all been done before. The people getting nutty about ripping off Matt Kirby need to chill. Matt is doing fine and is repped at RSA where his career will do terrific. This video appears to be someone doing something for very little cash they find intesting and at the end of the day very few people will see it so dont kill them for trying...as someone else mentioned at least its not some boring as hell performance vid. In addition, as someone who has worked very closely with many working music video directors I cant say enough how often Ive seen even the some of the very best ....write treatments while watchig someon elses work and basically ripping it off. For Christ sake I guess every hip hop video ever made is a hype williams rip off. Support each other with critisim and/or advice or go wine elsewhere.

         

just to nitpick, it's mat kirkby and he's at black dog, and the vid i presume everyone's going on about is for a fbs remix of markus nicolai's "bushes" - but what was going on there was girls getting bikini-waxed, so apart from the angle and type of shot, i see little similitude...

Absolutely great. The song has that real subliminal let's fuck and fuck and fuck hook to it. A departure from their usual garage punk sound.

Post that video from that Matt Kirby for fair comparison, please.

This video is very very nice. One or two of the participants aren't actually getting off. However, I'd like an all girls and an all guy version. Maybe I'll just do my own rip and edit hee hee!

It would have been bonus to have some frustration shots thrown in when they can't get off - after all, its not always a home run when on camera!
