What does it say about me that I love both this song and this video. Have I gone soft? I know they are the worst band ever, that background looks like shit, and I don't even think Fergie is hot, but I can't get enough of this song or this video. Say what you will haters, but I know you secretly love it as well.

Sure I'm gay, but I love this! It's an excellent dance tune, the video is smooth and stylin', and fits the song quite well, even though it's not the most interesting video from our standpoint.
The Black Eyed Peas are incredibly interesting. They're one of the few pure, stupid-fun acts out there. They started out on the elevated (q-)tip, making great vids with Brian Beletic, then decided to go for the mainstream. But they've still kept their soul (if you see them perform, or in the audience of the MTV VMA's, you'll know this), even if they made a conscious decision to go pop.
The point? Lighten Up!! Have some goddamn fun in your life!

Not bad. The song and video both have their moments. But as for fun, I'm afraid that this song and video are severly lacking.
Abandoning what they do best -- and that's cranking out infectious and joyous pop-soul-rap anthems that are pretty much impossible to dislike (Don't Phunk With My Heart, Let's Get it Started/Retarded, et al.) they have tried to make a pop-crunk Ciara style track that likes to think of itself as something the Neptunes almost produced. The video echoes this minimalist style, and strips away all the wild fun of their other material, leaving the group's gaping talent deficits open and plain for the eye to see. Plus, who wants to be reminded that Ciara ever existed?? Euch!

I like this song because, like Ciara "1,2 Step", it's got the 80's throwback in it, a bit of Roxanne Shante. On the other tip, I really dislike Let's Get it Started and Where is the Love, as much as I see the spirit of both songs.

I had the experience of liking the song hearing it blended into stuff, then finding out it was black eyed peas, leaving me in a moral quandry, for it seems to me that not liking a song due to your feelings on the artist is indeed every bit as shallow as blindly liking a song because you like the artist. Incidentally, it always seemed more like a hollaback girl redux then milkshake, but neptunes is neptunes i guess.
In regards to the video....ehhh. It's not bad, its just such a classic/badly dated conception of a"fashion" look that it leaves me cold and doesn't really help the song at all. I was definetly hoping for better. Also, fergie does not look good. like, at all. And I'm pretty easy on her post leaking incident. I think its time for them to dust off Francis Lawrence's phone number. Or Beletic's.
That said, I still never flip when its on. lady lumps is definetly a gross phrase. "all this breasts" is somewhat unsavory too.
