Plan B "No Good" directed by Daniel Levi
New video by Daniel Levi for Plan B.
i like this but i alway feel i know where his ref. come from- other directors-
This is not Johnny Häusler, is he?
yes. it is dull, feels like lots of stuff one has seen before
Wow. Absolutely amazing video.
I agree. The video is pretty awesome. Sure, stop frame has been used before but it's an age old technique. I think the video is really fresh.
Fantastic video! It and that Feist "Mushaboom" vid are great ways of turning the everyday into a magical experience. Three thumbs up!
(A bit of goatse in there too.. :) )
I'm usually bored with stop motion videos too, but this one really surprised me. I don't know how you could see this as dull at all, mr. vertigo.
But, Daniel Levi?!
Yeah, looks like Levi's producing some fresh new work. Good for him.
this was awesome. The best part was the jittery lipsync - wonder exactly how they did that. Damn britain's got a lotta white rappers. Listening to the song - who woulda thought it would get such a cool video?
pretty good. but there's something disconcerting about such a precious and twee video for a song with lyrics like "I'll stab in you in your eyeball." More to the point, the song just kinda sucks.
As to how they got the guy to be in synch with the music, I suspect that they shot a lot of him live-action and combined it with stop-motion that they shot separately. That's just a guess, though.
i don't think so. learning the facial expressions for sounds is one of the basic aspects of animation.
really quite an expansive vision. the mind boggles at the painstaking precision required. plan b must be a patient man.
yup its called phoneme
pes meets early dougal, you mean, warhero? some serious shit, though, this...
Progosk, I don't see the Dougal connection. Pes maybe, but then so many have explored stop motion before. Nobody owns the technique. Actually I think Pes and Levi, in this case, are obviously influenced by Jan Svankmeyer. Anyhow, it's easy to draw connections between so many director's work - notice how closely Dougal references Gondry.
the t-shirts changing:
i did say early dougal... (surprised this never made it to antville...!)
svankmayer's in a league of his own, with the quay's chasing his heels.
cap'n done beat me to't. the sense of comical timing in this new levi is also akin to some of dougal (though that's hardly a question of inspiration, direct or otherwise).
Awesome video. Wowee.
I think Levi's work is better than the sum of his influences. I watched LFO again this week and remember thinking I hated it at the time as it was so Chris Cunningham/Walter Stern but actually its pretty fucking good anway.
Same with this but I agree Plan B is not the most inspring of artists but he had a lot of work to do to make this happen so respect is due.
say what you like, flat eric nobbing the cat is priceless. does anyone know the name of the artist that did the original track.
what, pest, the flat eric track? that was quentin dupieux a.k.a mr. oizo, "flat beat". (guy did his own video, too.)
no no no. the chorus of this song, is lifted from an old house classic. wondering who did the original.
dunno who did the original but didn't it get sampled by the prodigy at some stage?
"dunno who did the original but didn't it get sampled by the prodigy at some stage?"
I thought it was a sample direct from The Prodigy: "i was going to give the title but i remember No Good to me may have just been the lyric and not the entire title"
oh well the mystery continues...
does anyone know which part of East London Plan B is from?
plan b or ben drew is from forest gate
