José González - 'Stay in the Shade'
The musician from the Bravia advert. Video by Elias Araya (Quicktime)
wheres the video?
Hey! Jose's too damn good to be made fun of! The video is here.
wilson wilson, Sunday, 6. November 2005, 21:33 uhm...at first i loved it, but then i stopped loving it when it got repetitive and the editing sort of seemed to be recycling itself.
jdub, Sunday, 6. November 2005, 22:40 Started great, then moved to the middle great, then it just stopped moving.
It's unfortunate because Elias' craftsy style took a big leap forward in this piece. The horse gods were awesome. But then it turned into a redundant hug-fest and all the oscillator/armchair stuff ran together. Why was the story continuing in the room after it disappeared? Maybe go underwater?
Find the rest of the story Elias...you're not done.
shut up, Sunday, 6. November 2005, 23:11 I bet they didnt have enough money to do more. It does start great, and kinda dies, I dont like the horse's final expression.
jesse.ewles, Monday, 7. November 2005, 00:42 I think the house probably exploded on impact and incinerated everyone, which is not the best way to close a video with such a positive message. Good video. -j
progosk, Monday, 7. November 2005, 01:11 subtly spooky.
warhero, Monday, 7. November 2005, 01:15 Jesus- the chair from "thirteen" has been in a bunch of videos- cool idea- not a bad video- what else has that Elias done??
shreveyboy, Monday, 7. November 2005, 03:04 if yall remember a post a long time ago from a band called carpark north (i forgot the song), they had a bunch of chairs in that vid. one of the chairs in that vid is also in this one for a split second :)!
marsheen, Monday, 7. November 2005, 03:24 I think it's a wonderful piece of work.
spreech, Monday, 7. November 2005, 09:54 From the moment on, where the pictures don't show exactcly, what José González is telling, it's a lovely clip.
someguy, Monday, 7. November 2005, 11:33 this is shit...it could have been quite good but it pretty much falls apart..negating anything good about the first few moments of the promo...wake up you pussys
salad fingers, Monday, 7. November 2005, 21:54 i agree 100% with someguy... that you all are pussies! SNAP!
captainmarc22, Monday, 7. November 2005, 22:43 I loved the beginning. Of course it was absoloutely literal and predictable - but it worked. Maybe it was the horses.
The rest had its moments... but I agree, it would have been neat if they went somewhere else. Even though they're limited to a room, there are other things to do. Remember the lemon jelly's "shouty track" video? Silly, but very entertaining.
tommyg, Monday, 7. November 2005, 22:52 and i agree 100% with salad fingers...that I am a pussy! as far as the video, i agree with what others have said. could have been great, but it gets bogged down around the middle and never really goes anywhere exciting after that.
i am confused why you quoted from the "bright eyes" thread.
have you watched this video? aren't antvillers likely to have exactly those same comments here (give or take a horse)?
it just seems like a lengthy way to make a point.
you could have just written "aren't antvillers likely to have exactly those same comments here [as in bright eyes thread]?"
nevermind...
