I would agree, for our purposes, that Björk "Where Is the Line?" is the worst of the year. But absolutely there are a ton of shitty videos (worse than Bjork) released every week.

Yes, this is where you're going to get your feelings hurt.

         

I nominate Mikel Knight "Texas Bad Boi" as Hilariously-Worst Video, and anything by Blackmore's Night as Most Parody-able.

         

OK...I'm double-posting (this is in the "best of 2005" also) - because you guys are off your rocker. That's crazy talk.

This is an easy one. The worst video of the year, hands down is "Wake Me Up When September 11th Ends" It was awful on so many levels, and they spent oh so much money on it. -j

         

Jesse's right. Bayer's opus is foolish but we have to realize that it played on mtv and was viewed by the youth. If it helped sway a single person's decision about the war overseas, then in effect, it was successful.

I agree with JDUB, I actually find the bjork thing very creative and full of weirdly curious ideas. Terrible execution, but it's by a first timer and I'm interested in seeing more.

I think maybe we should change this from "worst" to "most dissapointing". And for me, NIN - Only, would headline that list.

         

Jesse does have a good point there.

         

What was that World War II one that had everyone all worked up? Was it My Chemical Romance? That one was just about the most painful thing I've ever seen. There was nothing that worked about that video.

But yeah, I'd go with the NIN one too. That reminded me of seeing computer graphics demos in the early 90s. "You see, it's a computer generated cone dancing around a computer generated cube! Amazing!"

         

It can be nothing other than The White Stripes "Denial Twist." I mean, that video had so much potential, and it's such a good song, and Conan was in it. But then I saw it and it just really sucked. This is probably Michel's worst video yet. Which I realize is saying a lot. If it was someone else it would definaly not be as bad, but coming from him it was just weird. The whole thing just seemed really pointless.

         

That video was actually fairly interesting and totally gondry I thought, unlike his actual worst video which is the new Kanye West one...I like to believe that it was because he was busy with 2 features and didn't put any time into it.

         

Germany has it's own Mariah, yeah!
