Summary of untested ideas for this site so far: -a mv version of wikipedia some undefined mixture of an info-dump for v.a.org readers and a full-on mv encyclopedia. Grows as it goes. The community defines the content.

not to say this in a way like i'm challenging you or anything, but why are you trying to spin off a wiki for mvs? why don't you just contribute to and edit articles relating to music videos and directors on wikipedia? it's such a fantastic site/project and it already has it's own set of reliable conventions/protocol. and for the other stuff, there's already mvwire, videostatic and numerous blogs including this one.
robo: some of the ideas behind this are here. i am in awe of wikipedia, but it's not the right place for something as simple, say, as a compendium of classic antville posts/discussions, or a collated review of recent animation videos, or a vidcast feed of all-time best performance videos - it's a niche, and perhaps a dedicated mv wiki will live up to the task of servicing that niche. (it may not, in which case you'll have been right.)
Right. Myself, I'm not stuck to the wiki idea at all. If anything the site can be a better-organized Antville storage facility, since Antville doesn't operate well on that level.
Since mvstills uncovered the WikiProject idea, which makes sense, I think re-evaluating what we can add to the damn-cool Antville community (while being boring talking about it - lol) is good.
Meanwhile let's try to take this conversation to the other post.
