uhm, the idea is she says "sorry" in different languages right? cuz she says "i'm sorry" in french and than says "i'm sad" in dutch... and what the... that black dude in the beginning thinks it's because of his armpits odour that they leave?

funtoosh - how can you talk about soccer results at 17:11? that gets me to this point: Je suede desolei, isch bin traurisch ... no, no - you didn't say the game - now, right before the sportschau, I'm lookin forward to find out, where we gonna have this result, probably not the Bayern. I think it will be Madonna vs. ABBA. Wasn't that nice, how I did find my way back from soccer to Madonna two times. God, I'm so prowd, that I was one time the first Madonna-poster (nice double sense) on antville. before I'm gonna watch telly one question: What am I talking here?

         

I'm not ashamed to admit that I love Madge's newest album and this song is one of my favorites off of it. But this video is horrific. I kinda liked the dopey roller-skating at the end. if the whole video had been more carefree like that scene,I'd have been more fond of it. There's and irratating sense of seriousness that doesn't fit the style of music at all. It's brainless dance music that needs a video that's just as fluffy.Mind you,I'm not saying this is a serious or smart video,just that it appears as though it's trying to be one.

this is a fantastic discussion, cause in a way it looks exactly like the hung up-clip but a bit more LaChapellesk - I find it nice, not to know who dierected this.

         

It was directed by the guy mentioned here. He's a first time mv director, but he's been in the industry in another capacity. Easy on the eyes too.

I think in general, they filmed Madonna pretty well - she looks good in about 90% of the shots.

Madonna, nearly 50 and a gay icon; works best with a certain amount of kitsch - like the 80s workout outfits she's been pulling off. The beginning, which might as well be a plotline for a destiny's child video, is terrible. Way too broad - who's idea was it to put a nerd in there? It's only at the end at the roller disco where the video works; like the last one's DDR scene.

         

Nerd: another video cliche. They are used to make the vacuous and self absorbed feel better about themselves (used in "saved by the bell" often). Seriously though, Madge is having a mid life crisis and the video just isn't kitch enough. Why was the muscle guy kicked out? It didn't scan, it wasn't at all funny and the foreign language stuff made me cringe.

         

there used to be a time when madonnas videos where more fun than her music. now it's the other way round. the vids are pointless and one allways wonders why she cannot act her age (whats her age again?)

         

The first video was a LaChappelle concept but they fell out so Johan Renck was drafted in to execute.

This time out its first time director Jamie King who choreographed the Renck vid with Tim Maurice-Jones as DP.

I think it looks nice in some of the beauty set ups - for $750k it should - but the story smacks of something my mum would come up with and ultimately the whole thing is just wrong.

         

This one's worse than Hung Up, for sure. I hope they get off this storyline for the next vid, though I'm finding myself not caring whether they do anything at this point. I've liked Kylie's vids much more than Madonna's for a while, actually. Good song though.

doesn't come together as a whole, but there are many little segments i dug a lot. also, the song is great.
