Elis Regina - Águas de Março
This is probably not a music video in the strict sense, but it is so incredibly beautiful. It cheers me up everytime I watch it. Wait till the end and you'll see what I mean.
Anyway, Elis Regina is a Brazilian singer and the song is a Bossa Nova classic written by Antonio Carlos Jobim. The track is apparently lifted off a DVD called "MBP Especial 1973". Until you see the bearded musicians you wouldn't believe it is from 1973. It looks so fresh.
Anyway, here is a link to dailymotion.com. It is a quicktime movie. Use "page information" in your browser to download the file. A direct link will die soon, because the have session IDs in the URL.
One more thing: the bloke who upload this video to dailymotion has uploaded some really amazing stuff. Just click on his profile.
beautiful & uplifting!! thanx loads for posting.
Very nice, thx. Song & singer are very, very beautiful.
This song was is taken from Elis y Tom by Elis Regina and Tom (Antonio Carlos) Jobim. It is one of the greatest albums you will ever buy. It absolutely beautiful.
Cibo Matto covered this song (back-and-forth duet with Russell Simmons [JSBX]) a while back. Better version of the song imho, though I don't think you can beat the ending on this one.
it's not jobim on the piano. the version you are referring to is different, a duet and with string and stuff. here is an mp3 i found via google.
One of my favorite songs of all time :)
The version from Elis y Tom is divine - better than the one in this video IMO. Basia also did an excellent version, as did Smoke City.
