Robbie Williams: Advertising Space (dir. David LaChapelle)
Quicktime, 26 Mb A day in the life of an Elvis impersonator.
I still dan't believe, that they took this unbelieable boring song on the album and neither they've chosen it for the second single. And it is hard to say, what's more boring and stupid: the song or the video.
beg to differ. though i follow robbie from a certain distance, seems to me here he's at his elton john-y best. i actually find the song fairly hard to decript (advertising space is somehow very resonant), and quite listenable-to. as for the video, it's chock full of very subtly stylish elements both in decor and in narrative (indeed in narrative decor) - happened to see it on tv and it struck me in the same way åkerlund's "come undone" video did.
not my favorite of robbie's work, but pretty good all the same. i thought the vid worked nicely.
progosk is sometimes a mystery to me.
I think progosk should reveal himself to us.
Show your face progosk.
lol - he's not in the industry, and he's not even in Italy. I wonder if he's geekier than he lets on, though I'm sure he's a nice guy in person.
Hah! Nice response too (posted that while I was posting this).
Though I do think it would be fair and less cynical to add some personal flavour while posting, P. Keeping up appearances can't be that fun in the long run? (It's not working for me either.)
Actually I think Progosk was on stage with Three 6 Mafia last night ;)
I like the fact that in no way this could be considered pretentious.
What is it you are hiding sir? For one so free flowing with opinion..
what on earth are you all on about? cynical? mystery? more flavour? hiding? appearances? mafia??
what's to be gained from more biography? hasn't the author left the building a while back?
your pomo is so passé ...
Oh come on, Progosk, be friendly! It's nice to get to know each other too. Since you post here the most: what do you do for a living? What brought you to enjoying music video?
