beg to differ. though i follow robbie from a certain distance, seems to me here he's at his elton john-y best. i actually find the song fairly hard to decript (advertising space is somehow very resonant), and quite listenable-to. as for the video, it's chock full of very subtly stylish elements both in decor and in narrative (indeed in narrative decor) - happened to see it on tv and it struck me in the same way åkerlund's "come undone" video did.

lol - he's not in the industry, and he's not even in Italy. I wonder if he's geekier than he lets on, though I'm sure he's a nice guy in person.Hah! Nice response too (posted that while I was posting this).
Though I do think it would be fair and less cynical to add some personal flavour while posting, P. Keeping up appearances can't be that fun in the long run? (It's not working for me either.)
