Coldplay "The Hardest Part" (Dir. Mary Wigmore)
anyone got a link to the quite unbelievable new coldplay video 'the hardest part'? i can't find one apart from the horrid coldplay.com player. thanks.
the director, mary wigmore, is a recent moxie signing (she and paltrow are gonna do spots and promos together), so it might show up there eventually.
how is that a good video? it's a viral internet clip with band performance cut in. and 5 bucks says paltrow co-directed.
wow i got to give it some form of props. Amusing stuff.
didn't say it was good, i said it was unbelievable. it's the official video, not just a viral internet clip. i like it because it's the antithesis of the last one in every way. a good thing, in my eyes.
bonkers. thank god. (band look like prats, though, which is only fair.)
that made me feel wierd.
This is repurposed footage from an 80s Lifetime network show that Jimmy Kimmel dug up?
Way more expensive than it looks, and so I guess there is an element of the viral in this.
otaku, good find! hard to believe that this footage is for real … on american tv …
Like the idea or not, they tie in the performance footage brilliantly - unlike in the new Morrissey vid. My problem is with Coldplay themselves, although I appreciate the 80s jacket cuffs on Martin. Nice touch.
I can't explain why but for some sort of cannot believe what I'm seeing reason I've come to really like this piece. Admittedly, when I first saw it I thought "trainwreck". It's so utterly bizzare. It's so not this band, which I'm glad for, and it's nice to see them showing a very odd sense of humor instead of the usual far too serious shtick. And I can't say Wigmore's work is derivative of any video director, for sure.
