although i will say for the record that shoehorning the dude in there on the tv is usually an offence punishable in the most gnarly of ways

this is a philosophically relevant disamination of time (that is, our illusory perception/construct of it) in a music video disguise. (a recent non-philosophical take on the matter here.)

need to watch again to pick up more of the niceties.

(has ben rollason seen this?) (itunes had choked on the podcast of it, even qt hadn't managed to play it smooth - in the end firefox handled it best. that's what took me.)

Be interesting to know if they saw the Jeremy Warmsley piece or whether metronome, balloons, smoke, mirrorball reflections et al. are simple synchronicity.

If I wanted to go reference crazy, it reminded me in parts of Gaspar Noe's 'Si Mince' for Arielle too (think of the record deck at the start) and the tipping effect from Jaron Albertin's "Why are you looking grave" for Mew, and a certain de Thurahness of execution ('scuse the pun).

But it's got a personality all it's own, great art direction and I like it a lot.
