Sexy Back - Justin Timberlake (Dir Michael Haussman)
yes.
Really unintelligible narrative. Strange computerization to his voice (as if not sung but instead electronically typed in). Uncrystallized style throughout (rather 90's feeling).
Anyone know of a quicktime for this, please post. Like the retro feel, (60s & 90s). Very cool for me, although this will take one of our best treatments out of rotation. Oh well, bummer.
I don't have a quicktime one, but I happen to have a mpeg high quality one (113 mb!) Download it or not:

This video sucks. So does the song
seemed pretty tightly cut to me. too tightly?
unimpressed by this video and single. jt can do better, timbaland can do WAY better than this...
not the most interesting thing to watch but also not terrible. i was pretty interested in the outcome. how much sense it made is unclear. good thing he's so pretty.
timbaland -this summer- hasn't proven that hes that genius so many people call him. Just look at nelly, and this white guy. god i hope the björk collaboration turns out good.
as far as the video goes.
WTF?
i like it
Of course the production value is good. The song is catchy in that super poppy Justin Timberlake hip hop way. It will not dissapoint anyone except for those that want to hear his voice. As mentioned, kind of a bland idea and anything with an explosion of any sort at the end ought to be tongue in cheek.
In fact, here's a thought for you aspiring music video directors:
A series of scenes where the protagonst (the band, artist, etc) narrowly escapes explosion after explosion in different settings (cafe, hotel room, car, etc.) NON STOP EXPLOSIONS. The knowing looks before the explosions. The retarded looking acrobatic jumps to escape the explosions. Perhaps the bloody aftermath of the explosions as it affects the general "civilian" population and the inevitable disinterest in said aftermath by our hero(s).
Let me know if you want to put it together. I will happily facilitate the editing and post here in New York.

Totally agree with mva & mainchara: Timbalands quality was always to create beats who fit well with the interpreter (love his Bubba Sparxxx record, "deliverance"), but this track is absolutely nothing, as the video it only tries to be stylish. Really seems like the producer-pop is dead, if you take the latest work from Timbaland (this here or as mainchara siad the really silly record from Nelly Furtado), from Pharell (his solo-album) or Kanye West in a row. Actually didnt know about Björk / Timbaland. (She's really another league as Justin and won't be content with half of a homework by Timbaland.)
I think everyone is being really hard on this song/video for no good reason. I guess if you're a jaded hipster who is 'soooo over electroclash' then of course you'll use this song as an opportunity to feign shock at Timbaland's new sound like you've been following his career from day one. But the beat is huge, the hook(s) are serious ear-candy, and the video puts it all in a context that works. 26 year old grad students will deconstruct this thing till there's nothing left, but the kids that this is aimed at will get it, and they'll shake their butts to it all summer long. And to think that Timberlake could have easily released a rehashed version of his first album and gone triple platinum without blinking. At least the biggest pop star in the world is taking some chances.
I think toddyokoh has got a point. toddy.. can you reanimate this video as in.. do a remix to your favorite butthole surfers track?
abu lucie over and out!
Holy moley. At any other moment I would jump at the challenge... But just now I am under some kind of gun. I'll see if I can't fit some more explosion scenes from the Mission Impossible Movies in there if I do...
Honestly, a really pointless video with an awful song.
video sucks, but more importantly, did timberlake really like hausman's shakira video enough to hire him for this? is he on crack?
The video and song suck big time. What happened, Justin?
that sucks as much as I would have thought.
