now the votes are in, i thought it might be nice if all the winners stopped by with a little acceptance message. so i asked them - and so far nobody's balked. (you might even try putting a question to them in the comments. they're all terribly busy of course, but it's always worth a shot.) thus, without further ado...
In the 2006 antville Music Video Awards' first-of-a-kind category, MOST FUN VIDEO, the enjoyably left-field winner is Alex&Liane's romp for Deichkind's "Ich Betäube Mich"
So, A&L, over to you:
"Wow..nice one! Do we get a golden ant or anything that our Mum can flaunt at the neighbours ? Actually, last time we won an award it felt like the kiss of death but this one is a bit special coming from Antville.
Big thanks to everyone at the Bracknell Home for the Elderly that voted for the video and to Deichkind for being up for the idea, (which was like a friendly monster that moved in with us for a month). We just wish video opportunities like this came along more often.
On a final note..... This award goes to anyone in this industry who's been knocked down, "the flavour of the month", ignored or misunderstood. Our only advice is to ignore "good advice". In the world of music videos people only pretend to hold the rule book (there isn't one really).
