Here are two versions: Both are disruptive, one takes the end off and the other chops the end and beginning off. This was actualy done last June, the entire project was given a 5 day production schedule, and 2 days to come up with a treatment. it ended taking closer to 11 days. produced/co-co-directed by john fitzgerald of American Chopper! Comissioned by Larrissa Brown at rough trade Records

The QT (Progressive) link is jittery to load on some connections due to a autoplay tag w/o a controller, if you click the screen or press spacebar, you can pause and let it load blindly and avoid the autoplay/bandwidth wrestling match.

i finished this about two weeks before "ill follow you into the dark" came on antville.. and it made me think wow its like the opposite idea.
         
erm... interesting but, yeah, disruptive - as in: didn't really make much sense to me. why?

also: stuff like this makes it to mtv these days?
         
Very good, actually. Inconclusive, but more vibey than narrative-based anyway. Great song. (NB I'm unable to watch B where I'm at right now.)

Was that MTV UK? Anyone care to name the show for me? I doubt that'll air on MTV USA, but Subterranean might pick it up. Very short so that's a very easy add; short vids can help in a programmer's juggle for time.
         
Gwan cool, very cool. The disruptive quality is one thing, but the constant change in perspective is most jarring for me. Singer bursts thru floor to watch himself but when we take his POV, we're not yet through the floor, we're looking from underneath, framed via broken floor boards (!?).

This is then intercut with singer singing, light cascading thru hole in floor, roaming camera, then man in hole again. Growing/bursting is an unaswered nonsequitor and a half (which I easily let slide) - but the syntax of it all is very jarring (it doesnt seem to work on a dream, subconscious level). Very displacing and confusing.
         
Agree here..cool vid, I like kinda the theme of whats happening but dont get whats going on after just one viewing.

Is that really the singers voice? It doesn't match the way he looks at all!! Weird.

p.s. what happen to your web page Gwan? I enjoyed checking it out.
         
AS far as the disruptive quality, and general lack of flow has alot to do with we ended up using two different DP's each with 4 hours, half days, niether had seen what the other had shot, not even time for daylies, really its him thinking about his own performance, the end thats chopped lead back into them walking off stage, so the video looped perfectly, my idea was to have the scenario go through one or each chorus, and each time, the audiance would get bigger, he would be better dressed with longer arms and the girls back stage would be better looking, basicly each time he would rethink the scenario it would become more glamorous... but... they need a single to keep on the charts... so the lable opted for what you see, the editor sucked too...

and my site, has been taken down, due to signing with a production co. I will have a new one, but only with content licenced after signing, it should be a good site though, ive asked to keep it simple.

yeah.. subterianian US has/d? it and mtvuk, had a good rotation, oddly enough it the best in germany, #23 on TRL... it might have gone even higer his site has all the details on how to vote.
