Some cool and (I'm sure) rather difficult compositing work (maybe the reason for why the cyc ultimately became teal in the end?).

So so so wish this went somewhere. Both talents (MP + Nima) have so much more to offer.
         
i think it went somewhere well enough. anything else would have been distracting.

agree with lusk...with motion control access, band like Maximo Park, and a usually solid director like Nima, you really expect more out of the video, besides multiple bandmates and zero concept. Hard to sit through.
         
I liked it just fine. The camera moves/tilts have a nice visceral appeal to them, especially in the first 30 seconds. Also the top notch compositing puts this a step above other similar work like that new Bloc Party video.
         
Wanted to like it, but ultimately couldn't. Kept waiting for George Michael or Mary J to turn up!

it's cool but not stunning. first impression: NN has chosen the easy way to make the multiply effect: solid backgroud color + 'hey, guys, just remember to put the BLACK clothes on'. Nope it's not impressive. just fun, hey!

the brief was to come up with a crisp, cool peformance video and nima totally nailed from our point of view

it was a hard shoot - we didn't turn over until after 6pm on a one day shoot which reminded me of the first law of video commissioining:

'NEVER use motion control'
