Trans Am rocks. I like the fried graphics at the end and the eyeball rolling though the plasticine.-j

Awesome! not a single boring moment.kayser_sauze, April 2, 2007 8:09:02 PM CEST
Directed by "art maniac" / "art lunatic" Lung. Also by him Motormark's "Eat. Drink. Sleep. Think.".musicvideosyay, April 2, 2007 8:23:38 PM CEST
Not to be a downer or anything (well yeah actually I am being one), I'm kinda sick to death of all this flashy, multicolored, stop-motion, animation. It makes sense for a song that lacks any form of concept to be accompanied by a purely aesthetic video - but to me it seems like a second-rate, derivative track is trying desperately to cover up its bland sound with as many flashy cliches as it possibly can. How many Pollocks does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

None. Fish don't have hands.30f, April 2, 2007 9:52:46 PM CEST
This is exactly the kind of thing that I don't get. Not my style of music, not my kind of video, etc. I guess that makes me a tremendous square. I imagine the Nuni/Noony couple from SNL likes this kind of stuff. It is well made and there does seem to be a bit of a theme that kept me watching without too much boredom. Kind of a kitchen sink feel, but I gather that is the (one of the) points.

Because of the internet, no one can really tell what's cool anymore.progosk, April 2, 2007 10:14:41 PM CEST
oh, go gondry-esque yourself, spi.30 - this is from the paperrad/andreas nilsson school of animationjamming. lo-fi, raw, energetic, yet never simply random. not much more to 'splain.

RE: ProgoskThis video: Definitely not Gondry-esque.

30f: I second Prog on that. It's nice work, but it was a bit too close to being an art school project for me to enjoy entirely. The music and visuals don't jump out at you as much as they could. Still, I wouldn't want to discourage this Lung fellow, as there's good stuff in there.mookie, April 2, 2007 11:46:42 PM CEST
looked like someone's post academic stop-motion reel. but i must say there were a few moments in there i enjoy, even if completely random and nonsensical.30f, April 3, 2007 2:24:39 AM CEST
wow, everybody stand up for the animationjamming. I didn't say it was bad. Too soon?musicvideosyay, April 3, 2007 3:46:07 AM CEST
Is there a line to be drawn between calling videos cliche fads and calling them "of schools"? Lets see..Spike Jonze directs an entire video backwards. Are those that follow suite of the same backwards video school?
And yes, I am aware of the distinction between medium and aesthetic.
