S. J. Esau "The Wrong Order" Dir: Russell Weekes
S.J. Esau - Wrong Faced Cat Feed Collapse out now on Anticon Records
Fucking nice job Russell. Great concepts, really fits the track and nice to see someone thinking outside of the box. One of those 'why didn't i think of that?' ideas.
Fantastic.
The reaction shots on the actress were a little jarring (were they meant to be?) but, otherwise, smooth as silk.
On first viewing, I thought perhaps the longer motion-control shots (balloon inflating/deflating, et al) were extended a bit too far, but they work well to set the pace and build to the rapid cuts at the end.
Speaking of which, how on earth did you manage that shot with the desk lamp and what looks to be string suspended over a drum? If one expanded the pattern, that technique looks to have the potential to fill an entire video.
oddball and delicate. yum!
That was weird. And full of interesting ideas. I really liked it. I think there are great things come from Russell.
