KATE NASH 'Foundations' - dir. by KINGA BURZA
The see and say works and then it doesn't work and then it works again and then it doesn't work again.
I like the song.
Great video. I love the toothbrush's fight.
This is a phenominal little promo. Kinga has become one of my instant favorites. What fuckin class. Hip, but never embarrasingly so. Such great attention to detail (the fabric steps, the door, the use of light flares, her toenails - ha). Performance is spot on. Just really impressive, super classy work right here. Very very commendable.
total, utter charm.
this might be my favorite video of the year. i've probably watched it about ten times since partizan put it on their site. amazing, amazing, amazing.
it made me cry. just wonderful.
There's loads of reasons why this is fantastic...... art direction, styling, performance.... but the best thing about it is how well thought out it is from start to finish. There are so many little details and moments that every time you watch it you notice something new.
Kinga is a very talented young lady.
love Kingas new stuff. This video had great performance and art direction. looked great, had a nice subtle emotive quality. Like chatters and lusk mentioned, such nice attention to detail. I know I'll be watching it again for sure. For me, I thought the live action was so strong that the animation was unnecessary.
nailed the perfect visual for the song. perfectly understated and hits exactly the right notes...
this is great - this kind of subtle understated video with no clear narrative or visual hook is really hard to sell on paper.. Kinga did a great job and whoever commissioned it has vision.
I thought the animated bits were brilliant, really took the 'relationship to another level. Nash holds the camera superbly, very charismatic, the art direction brill, (someones got a lot of knick knacks) nice job KB
that was great, nice one
Not only does this video rip off the look and 'feel' of Terry Hall's video for The Maccabees 'First Love' it was SHOT IN THE SAME APARTMENT www.hellolove.tv
prarie's a sour puss, and her boyfriend's a location scout.
If only you knew ;-)
Her boyfriend looks like a loser, anyone got Nash's number now she is single?
Taking a trip down memory lane today. It's amazing that this was heaped with so much praise back in 2007. I remember thinking it seemed so fresh. I don't think the song or video would even register in 2012.
I decided to take a ride along with you, budget. I agree with what you said during most of the ride, but this one always had a warm place in my heart. Would it be as successful nowadays? I can't really tell, but it's still a great video by any standard.
I still like it.
