I concede. The unfortunate thing is that her 2 previous video projects (ici and là) were pretty exceptional. I was particularly annoyed with the drowned out music. The track is actually really good.

i really liked this... the mundane settings and events with the OTT costume... thought it was interesting. nicely shot too.
         
what? i love it! totally agree with nu_shuz.
juxtaposition of glamour & mundane... it's that big-star-everyone-clapping-but-actually-you live-in-a-shitty-suburban-house-and-have-to-get the-night-bus-home-thing. i reckon she pulls it off well; totally captures the after-gig depression, the way normal life can suddenly sneak back in and smack you in the face (wicked bit with the street gang & police car).

have you never felt like everything was a big fat sham? maybe that's just me...
         
it's a big record and that felt very underwhelming and mundane visually, even if the point of it was to show that there is another, much more banal side to those in the fame game.
is that a message SO worth making? and had it been made by a madonna or kylie, surely that would be much less pretentious than being made by someone who we don't DOUBT has laundry to do and occasionally takes the bus.
i want to see a video that is as futuristic and progressive as roisin and this great record. thraves's video is disappointing, even if it is executed well, because it feels slightly contemptuous of the viewer, like they know we are dying to see something aesthetic and otherworldly and cosmic, and they choose to give us the opposite.
