"The first song I heard was "23". It was so big and so unafraid to be beautiful - what could be the visual analog to that hugeness? I felt that Blonde Redhead had found their own personal way to the ingredients of a popular song - the way nutritionists use proteins, carbohydrates, sugars and vitamins and our bodies can't help but respond. I thought of the elements I use in music videos: a story, an emotion, dancing/movement, a magical transformation. I chose not to compete with the richness of the sound but to explore poverty. What if I only had one element? How could I reduce that element to it's composite parts? Could I reduce that again? If I kept reducing, would I get to the hugeness of the music? Could this be the way to visualize the hope for love and transformation that I feel in the music?"Mike Mills

ummm, so can someone explain the Titanic one? Mike Mills discovers youtube.kevathens, 19. July 2007, 01:51
It's backwards? I like it. I imagine he got James Cameron's permission even.progosk, 19. July 2007, 01:51
funny you should say that, cap'n. along with poses/top ranking, it's the one that worked for me most. (whereas burning crosses seems a bit of a rehash of this.)i also still like melody's 23.

Rehash, smehash. "The Dress" is a rehash of Glazer's Into My Arms, but that is obvious to most antvilleans, no? If I had the venue I would think thru this "It's been done before" dilemma. Perhaps someday.mva, 19. July 2007, 05:42
how amazing would it be if music videos had the money and resources to actually make a self-standing video that compares to the epic size and cinematic quality of titanicdavidbowie, 19. July 2007, 20:55

Blah, Titanic looks so Indoors studio is not even funny, I've seen 1.000 more videos with more belivable credibility than that Turd. And yeah overall didn't like any of this Clips by Mike Mills, or any of the stuff he's done really.
