Foo Fighters - The Pretender Directed by Sam Brown
now you see it now you don't... (peekaboo)
nothing new here but high production value...
wonder what the budget was? 200k plus?
that was awesome. amazing finale. well done sam. who was the DP?
Boring... as usual.
commercial DP no doubt
I thought it was pretty dam cool Awesome song as well
song is great.... thats the problem with the vid
great song + great visuals = great video
If Sophie Muller & WIZ had a baby (and made Paul Gore the Godfather) I imagine it would closely resemble this video.
That's not to say it isn't well conceived mind you.
There is nothing unique or great about this video... the song is very good.
yes I agree but in the bigger scheme of things this video works
Love Sam Brown. Great track by the Foos. Beautifully photographed. Reminds me a tad of Fedor's 1st 30 Secs to Mars video. However, took a while to build up past anything but performance. Felt like the whole thing was overcut and would have enjoyed seeing some of these moments play out longer ... especially the climax
yea.. totally Brown is good... and this video is exactly what the record company wants... it's effective and does the job. Just too bad that with such a band and budget there arn't a few moments of brilliance. wasted opportunity to really shine ... especially in the American market
exactly
i like the graphic quality of the build up, and the considered use of hand held and dolly. some good cutting too, and the finale is really special.
dang wish that avi didn't get taken off, i was too slow, anyone got a rapidshare link ?
simply brilliant. I really enjoy sams videos anyway but here he has stepped up to the plate on this big project and batted it out of the park.
mna, i like it a lot. rare that you see someone actually using the budget properly. i reckon the build up is perfect, and really nice cutting towards the end.
one thing: would've liked more apprehesion/face shots from the band before the charge... but that's nit-picking...
the end made the build worthwhile. I definitely think the edit could have been skewed a little away for the foos once the battalion was introduced. Or we could have used a CU or 2 of them. But i think this video is purty darn excellent.....
can someone please repost the avi? love the colour treatment in this video... thank you!
Some media terrorist uploaded it here.
thank you, media terrorist!!
