Ian Brown "Illegal Attacks"

Did a search and couldn't find this here - apologies if a repost but in my opinion this is one of the strongest and most important songs penned in the past decade and the video puts the point across well. If anyone has a QT I'll buy them an ice cream...
I'm sorry, there's nothing strong or important about this. People have been saying these things for years and frankly, the lyrics are only about a half-step up from protest shout lines.
WRONG! "your good twin" is simply betraying his/her lack of intelligence. "the lyrics are only about a half-step up from protest shout lines." isn't that the point you imbecile. anyway, all of the greatest songs are protest songs, the fact that this disturbs you is probably because you don't like music with content. "People have been saying these things for years" Similarly, i think its quite clear from the song and the video that no one is claiming some revelation about world politics. the fact that people are still saying these things is a reflection of the fact that the situation continues to persist. also how many protest songs on this subject have you heard on the radio in the last week? none? so clearly, this song actually does stand out.The fact that the song contains the line "only so many soldiers come home" from an earlier Ian Brown song is testament to the fact that there is no claim on originality. The point that is quite clear in the song/ video, is that there is a recurrent theme, that this goes on again and again over and over. It's a brilliant and convincing video, and it has a subject that ACTUALLY MATTERS. I personally think that the video is really important in this case in getting the full idea across effectively, in a way that i don't think the song on it's own would achieve.

Dunno what the big deal is here, I happen to think the song and video are not to my liking, I don't share your enthusiasm but I can appreciate it for what it is.
This is more to my alley, when it comes to making statements in videos: www.youtube.com
