Editors - Racing Rats (Dir: Vincent Haycock)
not a great video, but who cares. editors are awesome
Hahaha. That description cracks me up. There are pretty things here, but ultimately I was kinda waiting for them to all get hit by a trash truck. Not because I didn't like them but because they were in the street. Where are that girl's parents? I'd like to give her a stern talking to.
thats quite an aspect ratio
like the day for night look. who shot it?
@ thinkmad: what's so special about the 2:35 aspect ratio?
"the 2:35 aspect ratio"
it's actually a 2.67:1. not exactly boilerplate...
That quicktime doesn't really look 2.67:1, nor does it look 2.35:1. Looks somewhere in between.
i loved this. i thought it was simple and beautifully directed, and had a great tone.
i think the 2.35 aspect, or whatever the hell it is, is so often used as a cheap cinematic device and often works against the cinematography. here, i think it has been employed really well... a really cinematic description of a mundane environment.
bravo vincent.
I don't understand the haters here. I think this is really well crafted.
Let me break it down for you.
90% of the haters who post on this board and diss the work of Vincent and many other directors who are signed, repped, and WORKING, wish they had been commissioned to direct this, or any other music video.
Another 5% comes from people who wrote for this track, but didn't get the job.
The remaining 5% hate ANY video that wasn't directed by Michel Gondry.
haha, funny fury...I liked this video AND wrote on the track, so I guess I'm in the rare .01% percentile?
No lex, you're in the 5% that wrote & didn't get the job. yawn.
who shot it?
Ahhh, ok. And you must be in the 3% that can't take a joke. yawn.
how about the 100% fact this video is as boring as it gets. fart.
I actually quite like this video, except for the fact I had a similar idea last night while watching Apocalypto. I like the look, (it looks hd on the account of the lattitude) it has a look reminiscent of the old Eastman Kodak 50D stock (one of my personal favorite stocks). I dont see where others are coming from with this being boring, it held my attention till the well done tripped out ending.
EDITORS are a great band, right? I mean, EDITORS are a great band. They try and they struggle...it may all come together, but somethings not connected here, or is it too connected?
