A nice way to handle elements of a performance video. This is well done, clean and honest in presentation. A good performance from the main vox guy, his appearance and articulation of the lyrics acted as a good guide to walk a viewer through the clip. Maybe I'm just all designed out these days but even design involving grubby/nice colours kind of irritates me at the moment. Theirs just no point to it. A bit more of the visual trickery around transitions or using the blue painted objects as interactions like the fire pit jumping, those bits were engaging the rest I kind of lost interest. Solid tho. Good to see one idea well executed.nu_shuz, November 20, 2007 12:24:03 PM CET
brilliant, really fun to watch and executed with real panache. ben's shaping up to be one of the most interesting directors in the business..... always a joy.mva, November 20, 2007 2:46:10 PM CET
i love your video for blood red shoesbenroll, November 20, 2007 6:33:17 PM CET
No-one is quite sure why it was ditched. It came from the band though. The commissioner liked... the label was all on side... the band approved it all the way through. Possibly a vanity thing.thx for the comments, btw.

Thats hot, Love the bit where he walks into the frame and we are back outside I could watch a whole clip of that kind of thing alone. What keyer did you use? was it an AE job?
tekwrekfury, November 20, 2007 9:32:28 PM CET

Ben uber rad mcjazz! no shit!r-dogg, November 21, 2007 1:47:51 AM CET
Another amazing video as always, Mr. Rollason. To ponder the ephemeral ways and whims of band politics is to ponder madness. It's a past time best left to the gods and skittish managers, but to me it seems a foolish decision to shelve a video of this caliber. Glad you had a chance to share it with us, though.kayser_sauze, November 22, 2007 6:19:16 PM CET
benroll, who directed the released version?benroll, November 22, 2007 7:02:17 PM CET
kayser: Blair Young, I think.ps vidbot...
comps: Shake, keys: Primatte, moves: AE

quite flabbergasted this was not used, especially as the video they went with is utterly unremarkable. a poor decision by those who made it.one of Ben's best videos.
