The Unholy Trio "Bring the Noise"
that's my kind of party!!
aging with style
aging with style? i found this clip disgusting. don't know exaktly why. this small room and the overweight old people are kinda sad. i don't get the idea behind that video.
nobody says it has to be YOUR style... but it seems also that these wirdos do have fun. tell me whats wrong about that?
i'm a wirdo, too. or a freak. but in a good way. (don't know the right words to explain.) this just makes me sad. i don't say that is have to be MY style. but the style in that video is just kinda bad.
it reminds me of fat people in small villages and their polca and alcohol. (i don't drink alkohol and when i see drunk people... that so sad.) personaly. i don't know if the guys in the vid are drunk or not. but it reminds me of things that i don't like. thats all.
indeed. a film which triggers some feelings to me is a well made film/topic. here it seems that there are soooo many stories behind these people. probablely they are very drunk. maybe this is very sad. but I ask myself: WHY do they do that? it is the story behind of what we see, which makes this short party scene full of contrast and very interesting. but, you are right, nobody has to like it. thats absolutely true. there are many film topics which make me puke -even though they win prices etc - but still I dont wont to see that. so I got your point very well.
There's nothing sad about it, it's just a different lifestyle. I live in Appalachia (hopefully not for much longer, I'm sick of this place) and there's a lot of good folk who would prefer this video to anything else we watch here. They'd probably think we're all high-brow, high-class pricks, born with silver spoons in our mouths.
..I'm not surprised the Unholy Trio are (were) from Asheville, NC. I hear Asheville is just like Athens, OH, only slightly bigger.
This vid's from 2005, btw.
do you think the year, 2005, is of any importance? to me it could be shot yesterday, or 15 years ago. doesnt have any influence on the feelings the movie brings to the spectator. i think its strong stuff.
Right, I'm just saying in case someone wants to nominate it for this year's awards.
The only sad trigger about this clip, is the apparent naked poverty that is displayed when looking around the room juxtapositioned with the alcohol consumption
Imagine this party shaved and suited, transported to a location with a nice decor, would the comments still be peppered with phrases such as disgusting, weirdos, sad, overweight? Inebriation would be less of an issue too I'd suggest
Its a circa 2000 AD blunt documentary portrayal of certain South East US folk! Maybe also 'cause its B&W and 16mm I find it resonates favourably with Walker Evans' historic still images of the Hale County farming community
I'm with Kev on this
interesting approach. change locations and the type of people. calaidoscop of party people. probablely all with the same reason: to escape from something in their life. good idea
