Amy Studt "Furniture" Dir Lee Lennox
I loved the live action one. The other one is too confusing.
Director: Lee Lennox
Sharp minimalist stage coupled with the vulnerability displayed matches the lyrics perfectly. Works like a dream!
The animated version link is wrong (unless it was pulled) I can only find a 30sec u2b link?
The live action clip, was originally intended to be part of the animated version The director of the video, Lee Lennox was told half way through production of animation, that they were only going with the live part! He has since finished the clip as originally conceived?
Links got mixed up. www.youtube.com "The original video idea, once we began filming, quickly felt a little restrictive because in order to capture just the lips and eyes i had to stay incredibly still. This didn't do much for the performance side as there is only so much you can do with your eyes and lips in 3 or so minutes to show different emotions without the use of your whole face. So for each set up Lee (lee lennox) suggested that i give a straight performance to camera. The last shot of the day was in a shower and after everyone had left the room I was left with just me and the camera. Everyone loved the performance so much that we decided to put out two videos."
Thx for t'clarification n link Amy, Last shot of the day! who'd a thought! It's the rad mcjazz for sure!
links now rectified. Ta for spotting
Nice work Lee. The animated version is nice, but that shower performance is extraordinary - transfixing - feels like a soul laid bare. Repect.
I think this is a similar way to how Sinead O'Connor's 'Nothing Compares to You' came about. I don't think it was ever intended to be the one lingering shot, but it was so strong....
