Downloading Nancy (Film Trailer) - Johan Renck
Director Johan Renck's first feature.
Downloading Nancy follows the fate of an unhappy housewife who instead of committing suicide, meets a man over the Internet and hires him to kill her. Things become more complicated when the two unexpectedly fall in love.

here's a challenge. Name a music video director, then invent a title and synopsis for their feature film debut.
Is this going to be at Sundance?
I fucking love Johan Renck and this trailer is full of beautiful imagery... my only worries are: a) the fact that he's plastered that trademark cyan wash over ev-ery-thing. b) I'm not sure I saw enough wooden panelling.
Photography was, as usual, stunning.

filmasart: Yep. Here's an interview with Lauri Faggioni about the film.
"Then he said, “I want to tell this story in pastels.” Pastels. That was the joke after I signed on. I said, “You had me at pastels.” Something about telling this dark story in pastels hooked me in. I agreed to it and headed to Canada. The whole flight over all I could think was, “Pastels, pastels, pastels."
Awesome!
Oh man, I don't want to be the sour seed, but this film has a terrible title, the trailer is cringeworthy, and the some of the performances are way off. That one scene of fuck-you, fuck-you had me looking away (as well as the slit wrist shit). It feels very very much so a film more interested in pastels than one focused on story.
And it does have (thematically and aesthetically) my least favorite type of shot: People looking off into the camera, meloncholic. So boring.....
Add this film to The Cooler and A History of Violence and "movie where someone performs oral sex on Maria Bello" is going to become its own genre. Oh, and this trailer is NSFW, by the way.
At least it'll be better than Belly.
otc: better than Belly, Torque, Constantine...what else?
One Hour Photo is pretty good.
r-dogg: added a NSFW tag, thanks.
oh yeah pastels... thats new. You really are an idiot shatner.
'Awesome!'
off director-file: "It will star Holly Hunter, William Hurt and Stellan Skarsgård."
now that wouldve been unbelievable...
looks frightening. lusk: title i can agree on; the rest, not so much.
Milan: Don't forget The Hitcher. But damn did anyone see Control? It was pretty amazing. I'm still waiting for W.I.Z. to make his debut.
Has anyone ever seen Jamie Thraves' movie? Is it worth checking out?
Belly is a masterpiece
I'm looking foreward to this movie tho'. Nothing Really Matters is one of my favorite Renck videos
