Kenneth Bager "Fragment Eight" dir.: Uwe Flade
love it
awesome, never seen anything like it.
i'd rather go for the vintage look home.frognet.net
but, honestly, i still think it's crap
yeah, luk, that's the one.

Yes, I prefer Ellen von Unwerth's piece too but I think they're both groovy
no grand piano ?
erm, i wuz kidding above. now that i've actually seen this: i like it, but it's a shame the edit's so... meh. had that (or perhaps some of the material) been tighter, this would've bordered on classic.
Think if it this way, it's much better than if Uwe Boll directed.
I quite like it, but with you on the edit prog. Reminds me of that Bikes of Burden book. www.bikes-of-burden.com
I know so many "chinese bicycle transport" pics... and every "simple dude" in europe oder USA says: "whooaaaa look at this".
And i think: yeah, it looks heavy and strange. but calm down. go on.
I don't like the video. For me the idea is to easy and cheesy.
"tighter" = something like this.
nice, huh? tha's hadi.
Yes mmm could be tighter maybe! But still good. Depends how staged the Flade footage is compared to the Hadi ad I'd a thought!
Von Unwerth's piece is cool too
show reels
Uwe Boll's trailers on his site are a bit of a pain in t'arse to access - scroll menu to 'Links' then click film website link for trailer
Far quicker with a u2b resume
I note he's not that well loved on the net!
luk it's not a question of being a "simple dude"! The images are unusual because legislation means such scenes are never likely to happen in countries of the western hemisphere without the absolute likely hood of being pulled by traffic cops then being booked n' immobilised if not also arrested Come to think of it I've never seen a kid riding the highway as a passenger on a motorbike let alone four n' helmet less at that So yeah ppl do go "whooh look a'that"
for me the question is. is that all? if i'm the director... and get that "whoo, look at that" feeling... what would i make.
I really like some "uwe Flade" work. But for this video he just take that "whoo thing" and thats it. sometimes is good to make it simple and clear. i prefer that. but in that case... i don't know. i watch the clip and from the first time i know. "ohhh, the director discover the chinase travel system"... and second: some people will say: "whoohoo". for me its just boring. of course interesting for some 12 year old kid who never see such thing.
just one guy; reel's on beam.
OK 12 yr old's or whateva, 'sides ain't that Vietnamese footage Don't think the Kinh id be too delighted to have their carriage n transport ingenuity accredited solely to the Hoa, whateva the reason for t'expediency
here is a quicktime in better quality:
my work is to be found here: uweflade.de
thanx progosk for the link to the cool nokia ad! (their budget was probably 30 times as high compared with ours)
the amount of bikes you see is more or less the number we could film so I tried not to repeat them in the edit (only the cow is double) so the rythm followed that concept.
thx for the qt, u.
hmm...I liked the idea at first sight, but there are many many loose ends:
-opening is some kind of story telling / introduction with the man and the kids... doesn't come up again, not even at the end, has only a minor connection to the rest of the video -very few closeups and details of the vehicles are scrambled across the video, that makes absolutely no sense -> more closeups or none at all -I understand the need to visually change something during the bridge but those shots don't do it for me, they are random. -colors don't look good
look at the artist bernd & hilla becher imagecache2.allposters.com
they didn't use closeups for their let's call it "comparing similar things"-works
This really blew my hair back. Fantastic, endlessly watchable, the pacing is pitch perfect. I would not change a single frame.
