A Cursive Memory - Everything (dir.?)
Just saw this on M2. Unintentional commentary on the role of fame in the age of the internet, or just a fun 'spot the celebrity' piss-take?
surprisingly fun. :)
wow, great idea. Is this a real commissioned video? Or just friends shooting stuff? Either way, I'd love to hear the story behind it.
are these guys nobodies? in that case, this is v clever.
This is a great idea, perfectly tailored for the internet age of videos. Good job guys. Hell, you might even get a PerezHilton blog post out of it if you play your cards right.
impressive - low style, high class
Some of those shots that pull back from Lohan or Spears and reveal the band lip-synching are almost too good to be real. I doubt the band is big enough to have gotten this commissioned, but someone with some actual filmmaking experience must have been involved.
Ingenious.
real nicely done. nice shot. i can't help feeling they must be in on the celeb circuit, or wouldn't have been able to get away with this. if it's true guerilla style, then hats off.
making of
They busted their ass and chased celebs night after night and it paid off in a pretty awesome video.
i know from personal experience that it's not that hard to track down celebrities. i hung out with a paparazzo for a couple hours one night and ran into jessica simpson, paris hilton, jack osbourne, james franco, scarett johanson and gerald butler. publicists and restaurant owners really do tip off paparazzi
Agreed. Double smart marketing on wearing the band t-shirt/website in the video as well. Some footage that wasnt even shot for the video was captured by other paparazzi and ended up on various blogs and tv shows.
absolutely brilliant.
great link, prog.
Team Cursive Memory! Entourage sucks!
Who directed this?

yep - top marks to the kids for smartness, balls, and savvy. and top marks to whoever shot it (cameraman mostly, just for excellent moves in what must've been tight situation)
