Gnarls Barkley /// Going On /// Dir. Wendy Morgan
Major Improvement over that Justin Timberlake fest of a video
holy f**k that was good. my one quibble was the long exposition like caption. perhaps if wendy just shot the video so it was slightly more evident that we were leading up to this extra dimensional door. also, i didn't like the VFX in the door. This was one of those times when not using FX is superior to using them. Had she left the door clean it would've been much cooler not to mention much more in keeping with the tone of the rest of the video.
K p.s. - brilliantly shot and edited.
Yep. Great work here, Wendy.
The very first shot of that guy singing was amazing.
love this. great styling, shots, edit - great direction, what. (yeah, coulda done without the opening splanation, some narrative lag here&there - but great stuff notwithstanding.)
Gnarls, in a flash version here: www.revolverfilms.com
flv, fwiw (edit suffix to .flv).
this is great. shot by max goldman and cut by geoff ashenhurst.
Yeah Geoff did a great job with the edit. Really top notch.
some backstory.
Wendy did a great job, Max did a great job. I'm really happy about how it came out. Love the Rock shot. hehe.
cathy pellow commissioner not just to my own directors!
Cathy! thanks! and thanks for your ideas and help! As you can see we used them all! High Five.
Great job, Wendy. This is a very inspiring video.
The styling's top notch as well.
uh-oh, cathy...: accusations fly, blowback ensues.
We all borrow and while this doesn't excuse all 'borrowing'(all borrowing is not equal; some types are outright theft) most forms of it should be considered fair play. In fact, what surprises me the most is that it's Revolver's exec. producer doing the emailing herself. I guess she's a hands on kinda gal. ;)

Great, although it tails off: I wanted more of that top choreography/dancing in the second half.
To me it owes just as much to that South African Romanek/Janet Jackson video years back. -j
