Brilliant. The first AC video that is really tuned to their music. Love it.lazlo, 22. January 2009, 00:24
I agree this fits the music quite wellcaptainmarc22, 22. January 2009, 00:34
tough one. A proper Animal Collective video feels like it needs to be shot on 35mm in the forest with a cast of thousands. I know they sample and use keyboards; but the song feels organic and the video doesn't. I'm sure it's a budgetary thing; this couldn't have had much cash. This video would be a good fit for some minimal electro band.
I think the Panda Bear artwork best captures the visuals of the band:

Refreshing how the camera plays it really straight. It's a good performance vid as opposed to completely retreating into pixel-land. jesse.ewles, 22. January 2009, 01:59
I REALLY wanted to do this video.macguffin, 22. January 2009, 02:02
Where's Tintori when you need him?shatner, 22. January 2009, 02:05
I think everyone wanted to make a video for this song. stoney, 22. January 2009, 02:34
id like to do In the Flowers or Bluish the most.they are all pretty damn amazing. Excited to see what AC does for the other videos on this album. More optical illusions?
cant help but feel slightly underwhelmed here with this one. I think the lips threw me off or something...
im assuming the turnaround was super fast on it, so in that respect, they did a good job. agree with captain marc for the most part though...

This is fantastic work!spencefilms, 22. January 2009, 05:34
I almost didn't watch it because of the still, but I'm glad I did, that was great, the transformation at the end was a great touch, and I almost wish the rest of the video had that same style throughout, all though in another iteration perhaps, but im sure budget and time were factors, (they always are). And dude Stoney, your CMRM video is awesomeness.stoney, 22. January 2009, 18:18
thanks spence. aaron stewart ahn, 22. January 2009, 21:40
You have got to be fucking kidding me. Sub blue man group performance, with graphics that wouldn't look out of place on a Generra hypercolors shirt. I'm sorry but when antvillers think this is even passably good it shows that the bias is only with what is considered cool.alexdecampi, 23. January 2009, 15:39
I read Aaron's comment and was like, 'damn, that was harsh' then I watched the video. I lasted for two minutes, got bored, turned it off and - yeah, Aaron, you're totally right.alexdecampi, 23. January 2009, 18:22
Best Animal Collective vid for me is still Saccenti's Peacebone - it's a real grower and it's stayed in my head pretty much since it came out a couple years ago.As for other AC videos... none really stand out.

hook them up with encyclopedia pictura or something.macguffin, 24. January 2009, 16:03
^I think they tried but E.P. isn't doing music videos any more
And although I like the Peacebone video is felt more like a weird short film with an Animal Collective song as the soundtrack than a music video.

Jon and I had a little over a month to do this video. We had a lot of ideas, but ultimately we had to keep it basic so that we could actually finish. For those of you that don't make videos, just so that you have some perspective, this video represents about 500 hours of work on our part. Having more time or a shorter song would have been GREAT, but I'm still really happy with how it turned out. Thanks to everyone who had something nice to say, this was really a labor of love.PS. it looks best on vimeo (of course) vimeo.com
