Kutiman - ThruYou
This is awesome. Thank you for posting! I'm kind of in disbelief that no one on antville has the sense to comment how incredible this is. Wonder how long it took him to edit it all together?
yes, odd how this hasn't merited as much as a meh round here...
Nice argument for the existence of free use, but still feels like a meh to me. There's no edge to it, it's more "neat" than "cool" if that makes sense.
you have not listened with a sufficiently attuned ear, nor have you watched this carefully enough. the mere feat of composing killer tracks while reinventing the whole concept of sampling, merits a gold star; add to that the amount of care he's dedicated to the visual side, both in choosing and editing the clips; top it off with a presentation so redolent with knowing-what-the-fuck-he's-doing-yet-keeping-it-supremely-real, and i think you'd do well to spare the brother a little more attention and grace, before letting loose your jaded burp, there, otc.
otc- that kinda makes sense to me. what he did was 'neat' but i legitimately like the song he created from it making it 'cool' in my book
progosk- the more I think about it, wondering if the site being down most of yesterday and a lot of today has anything to do with no reaction
oh, and: brilliantly, someone's posted all of the videos to... youtube! see UPDATE up top
No i agree, gold star all around. I like what he's doing, sort of like a youtube girl talk. But it didn't really excite me the way it obviously did for you. If there weren't already comments about the lack of comments I would have passed by without note. This is from someone who was meh on that swedish beatboxing guy and pork and beans. If I'm jaded about these things it's only because I overconsume loads of videos on Antville every week. I'm sure this will go big without me on board and it deserves it.
This is just amazing. One of the coolest things I've seen on the internet in ... well. A long time.
While the thought of taking youtube videos and mashing them into a music video seems kinda lame, the creativity and talent taken to put this project together in a professional way with a solid end product with some wicked tracks totally blows my mind.
